The USC Upstate Spartans beat High Point in a three-game Big South Conference baseball series at Harley Park last weekend. High Point won the first game, 8-1, Friday and Upstate won both games on Saturday 8-1 in the first game and 7-2 in the second.
Upstate is 14-3 overall and 7-3 in the Big South Conference. High Point is 7-9 overall and 5-5 in the conference.
Pitcher Alex Garbrick won his fourth game for the Spartans in the first game Saturday allowing five hits and striking out six in five innings pitched. Noah Rabon got two hits and scored two runs. Julian Rip and Devin Buckner also scored two runs each.
Noah and Jeff Taylor added three hits each in the second game Saturday to lead Upstate. Sawyer Worrell started and got his first pitching win going five innings.
Upstate plays Presbyterian at Harley Field Tuesday at 4 p.m.
