The University of South Carolina Upstate is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 5th. Organized by Professor Araceli Hernandez-Laroche, the University is offering several events with prominent guests.
On Wednesday, March 5th, the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business & Economics is hosting Ghisela Eljach to speak. This event will take place from 2:00pm-3:15pm in room 150. Eljach will be presenting “Give Yourself Permission to Dream as an Immigrant.” This event will also count towards the El Centro Public Scholars Program.
Hernandez-Laroche encourages everyone to attend when she says, “All invited to learn from a champion of entrepreneurship in the Upstate and beyond. We also congratulate Ghisela Eljach for her recognition as one of the 2025 Women of Influence by GSA Business Report.”
This event is also sponsored by Brian Brady, who is the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Also taking place on Thursday, March 6th from 7:00pm-9:00pm at Spartanburg Community College is a documentary premiere of “Miss Perry Will Speak.” This event is free to attend, you can claim your ticket using this link.
There will also be a panel at Thursday’s event, where Araceli Hernandez-Laroche will serve to discuss the importance of public humanities.
