Do you wish that you could explore a new locale while still getting your education? Want to travel to places you wouldn’t have thought of before the University offered the chance?
At USC Upstate during the summer, there are four travel opportunities this year, 2026. Three are out of the United States, but one is here within the country, if you do not feel comfortable traveling too far from home.
The locations are New York City, Alicante, Spain, Multiple locations in China, and Paris, France. Each one is for specific subjects, so if you’re not sure, please check out the info website.
For New York City, it’s all about New York stories. From songs to theatre to filming, this location is a dream for all creatives looking to expand their resumes. As well as getting more practical experience in doing rather than researching.
Alicante, Spain, is for those learning the language who not only want to gain practical experience but also to experience the culture.
China is for nursing and healthcare, where they will experience global healthcare firsthand by participating in clinical trials at Dong E. Hospital and Liaocheng Cardiac Hospital in Shandong, China. As well as exploring Beijing and the Great Wall of China.
Paris, France, is a more laid-back travel destination as it is not limited to one specific major, and any major can take the class for it and explore the city.
Program Manager for the Center of International Studies, Patrick McClearly, said, “We hope to build students’ soft skills and hard skills with their trips abroad and to build their character as well. Once they go abroad and see how well they can manage, they always want to go out into the world more, and that’s the best part of the job.”
Great way to gain experience, and looks great on your resume. You get to expand your horizons. You can either focus on your major or minor, or just lie back and get extra credit in something you just wanted to try.
