There is no excuse to not have fun this Saturday, October 4! The annual Upstate Family Fest returns as part of Family and Alumni Weekend. It will be held at the Burroughs parking lot from 1-5 pm. Registration is free, and USC Upstate students, alumni, employees, and their families and friends are invited!
This year there will be even more fun than before. The Office of Student involvement says they “are excited to combine the Rocktoberfest Carnival with our traditional Family Fest lineup for a larger and more exciting event!”
There will be large mechanical rides, carnival games/prizes, and carnival treats. Stop by a face painter for a new look, have a caricature artist put some personality in your portrait, and see some amazing creations from a balloon artist! If you’re hungry, Smokin’ Flava and U Wanna Empanada food trucks will be setting up shop. Food isn’t covered by registration.
Make sure to register for the event before 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 1st.
You can also preorder event T-shirts until noon Friday, October 3rd, and can be picked up at event check-in. T-shirts are not included in registration. Left-over t-shirt inventory will be available at the event (credit/debit card purchases only).

Surrounding Family Fest are many other exciting events for Family and Alumni Weekend! The 2025 Alumni Awards Ceremony, Upstate Ring Ceremony, and Black Alumni Council Reception are just a few. There will also be volleyball, softball, and soccer games sprinkled throughout the weekend. You can see the full schedule of events here.
